ところだ

たあとだ and たところだ both follow た, lining up when ちょうど pins the moment (ちょうど食たべたあとだ, ちょうど食たべたところだ). あとで just states "after," any gap, while たところだ claims minutes, not years.

するところだ puts the act at the very next moment. するばかりだ says nothing about when, only that every step but one is done.

ところだ says what happens next in a plan you already know (出でるところだ). 今いまにも〜そうだ only reads what you can see happening, no plan needed (今いまにも落おちそうだ).

〜るところだ says the act is on the brink of starting (出でるところだ). そろそろ出でる judges the moment right, the only one that hints to the room.

たところだ measures a real clock window, and rejects long spans (×先月せんげつ結婚けっこんしたところだ). たばかり is the speaker's own sense of recent, and stretches freely (先月せんげつ結婚けっこんしたばかり is fine).

A plain report after it makes たところで a simple "just as" (家いえを出でたところで雨あめが降ふり出だした). A denial after it means "even if you did", never happened.

聞きいたところだ ends the sentence, and claims the asking happened moments ago. 聞きいたところ、 breaks off at a comma, with no claim on timing.

食たべているところだ narrows ている to one pinpointed "right now," losing the habitual and resultative readings. Duration adverbs like ずっと sit fine with ている, clashing with ところだ.

ところだ's dictionary form here says nobody fell (落おちるところだった). Its た-form instead says an arrival happened, same ending, opposite meaning (着ついたところだった).
