    A stronger form, the only one used in もしもの時とき. It pushes the case further from reality than plain もし.

  • もしものことmoshimonokotoalternant

    A fixed phrase for the worst outcome, left unnamed — もしものことがあったら、この封筒ふうとうを開あけてください.

  • もしもの場合ばあいmoshimonobaaialternant

    The same fixed phrase, ahead of a set of instructions — もしもの場合ばあいに備そなえて、水みずを用意よういしております.

Notes

もし is optional; the sentence works without it. It flags a condition
already there, without creating one.
