までに

うちに warns a window is closing before things get worse (暗くらくならないうちに). までに just names a deadline, no such warning (五時ごじまでに).

まえに just says one thing happens before another, any time earlier (何年なんねん前まえでもいい). までに sets an actual deadline, often paired with a duty (提出ていしゅつしなければならない).

までに names a fixed deadline, a date or event (五時ごじまでに). あと＋quantity names the distance to it now, and keeps changing (あと五分ごふん).

から〜まで covers the whole stretch between two named ends. までに names only a deadline, saying nothing about the start (五時ごじまでに来くる).

まで means the action keeps going up to that point (五時ごじまで待まつ). までに means it happens once, sometime before that point (五時ごじまでに来くる).
