    味あじわう間あいだ

    the kanji spelling, which is what print and textbooks use; kana is common in casual writing and neither changes the meaning.

  • あいだはaidahaalternant

    味あじわうあいだは

    は added to set this stretch against other times — 日本にほんにいるあいだは毎日まいにち漢字かんじを書かいていた。

Notes

The sentence has to cover the whole stretch — by lasting, by repeating
(日本にほんにいるあいだ、何度なんども温泉おんせんに行いった), or by
holding off throughout (授業じゅぎょうのあいだ、一言ひとことも話はなさ
なかった). With people, あいだで can mean "among" instead —
子供こどもたちのあいだで人気にんきがある.
