Notes
or mixed feeling; a tidy list of pleasant plans takes と or たり instead.
Two items stand in for more, and a trailing で marks the jumble as the
cause of what follows.

Similar
たり〜たり needs a final する to carry the sentence's tense; やら〜やら takes bare nouns as readily as predicates, its list stands alone and usually closes in で or の, and it colours what it lists as unsettled — a cheerful weekend plan takes たり and sounds wrong with やら.
も〜ば〜も presents its members as a deliberate balanced pair, each asserted in its own right; やら〜やら presents a disorderly heap whose members merely stand in for more, which is why it so often trails into で as the cause of the state that follows.
Lookalikes
A やら appearing ONCE after a wh-clause is an embedded question filling かどうか's slot (いつ帰るやら分からない); only the doubled やら〜やら enumerates, so a single やら is never a list.
