他方たほうtahouformal
the academic twin, used in papers and articles. It insists there are exactly two sides — a third 他方たほう in the same piece sounds like a mistake.
一方いっぽうでippoudealternant
the same word, but starting a new sentence (一方いっぽうで、課題かだいも残のこる). Common in opinion pieces — don't confuse it with 一方いっぽうで inside one sentence.
一方いっぽうではippoudehaalternant
adds は when you're weighing the two sides against each other. Often pairs with 他方たほうでは later on.
